SILVERADO JEWELLERY

ABOUT US

Silverado Jewellery began in Brighton over 28 years ago, where our flagship store can still be found in the bustling North Laine. We opened a tiny little shop in 1994 on Meeting House Lane where we sold chunkier silver jewellery with a 90s vibe! Later we opened a second store in Kensington Gardens, but we now reside in Bond Street, just a few streets over. And like us, our collections have moved into the 21st century!

As well as our Brighton store, we have since opened a shop in the historic Sussex town of Lewes; a beautiful little shop on the High Street selling fabulous contemporary jewellery. Our newest store is tucked down Swan Lane in the centre of Guildford, which we opened in 2014. Although we love these towns our heart belongs to the seaside and this is where we run our online boutique.

As you may have guessed, we love jewellery and take great pride in sourcing the best pieces from a range of fabulous contemporary jewellery designers both locally and further afield. Quality is a priority and we only buy designs that we can’t wait to wear ourselves! Most collections are handmade and come in a variety of styles to suit all tastes and budgets. Sterling silver is still a big part of our designer jewellery collections but we also offer beautiful pieces in solid gold and gold vermeil, many with stunning gemstones.

Our three stores offer a relaxed and friendly shopping environment. We pride ourselves on our customer service and would be happy to help you find the perfect gift or treat for yourself, so why not pop by and say hello!

 OUR ETHICS

As well as offering the best customer service we pride ourselves on taking care of our staff and offering a fun working environment. Silverado is a member of the Living Wage Foundation, ensuring that all employees receive a decent hourly rate for their work. We also work with local organisations campaigning for and promoting the Living Wage.

Silverado is committed to supporting both local and international charities and we are proud to donate a proportion of our profits each year to selected causes. Since the scheme began we have donated over £72,000 to these charities. Our current charity partner is Pelican Parcels, a wonderful Sussex-based organisation which redistributes donated items to local families facing financial hardship. You can read more about their work here.

Looking after the environment is very important now and for future generations, that’s why 100% of the energy consumed by Silverado comes from renewable energy sources. We also operate a zero-landfill policy.

A NOTE ON OUR DESIGNERS

We are proud of our designer’s commitment to environmental and ethical issues and we champion designers who handcraft their jewellery with  recycled silver.

Alex’s jewellery is all handmade in the UK by his skilled team using ethically sourced sterling silver and licensed Fairmined gold. Fairmined is an assurance label that certifies gold from small-scale mining organizations going against the grain and embracing responsible practices – thereby transforming mining into an active force for good and providing everyone with a source of gold to be proud of. Find out more here.
